Exeter United Church is fortunate to have an active and dedicated United Church Women’s group. Due to COVID-19 the UCW's activities have been put on pause with the exception of their participation in the Farmers' Markets held during the summer months. Everyone is welcome to join the UCW in any or all of their activities throughout the year, new members and new ideas are welcomed! Here are a few of the highlights from the fun, fellowship and work that our UCW group has taken part in… Fun and Fellowship ¨ Day trips to local points of interest including a brewery, a sheep farm, nursery and the Festival Theatre ¨ Games night ¨ Potluck dinners ¨ Interesting guest speakers on a variety of topics ¨ Regional UCW activities like the fall rally, Westminster Weekend and summer event at Siloam United Meaningful Work and Community Contributions ¨ Annual Christmas Bazaar and Smorgasbord Luncheon ¨ Donations to community outreach including: Community Meals, Collective Kitchen, Jessica’s House, Walker House, the Christmas Bureau, high school breakfast program ¨ Significant financial contributions to Exeter United Church ¨ Donations to United Church camps Bimini and Menesetung ¨ Educational support for congregation member ¨ Friendship Tea at the Villa ¨ Catering and support for funeral lunches ¨ Anniversary Sunday service ¨ Provide equipment and maintain the church kitchen ¨ Take care of flowers and decorating UCW Vision As women of faith, We believe in nurturing Christian spirituality by reaching out through commitment and devotion to all God’s people in the promotion of truth, justice, peace, caring, and respect for all throughout the earth, God’s world; We believe in honouring God the Creator, and loving others through generous giving and joyful living; And we believe in affirming and strengthening ourselves both individually and together through creative study, prayer, and action. The Meat Pie Ladies meet each month to enjoy fellowship as they prepare turkey and beef pies to sell in the community. Many of the Meat Pie Ladies are from the UCW but there are also many ladies from the larger community who have joined this group. Funds raised support various initiatives around the church and in the community. This activity has been paused due to COVID-19 restrictions.
